Wooster Skating Academy provides coaches of all levels for your skaters. ChrisMartin

Christian "Chris"   Martin, WSA Director
Chris is a PSA Rated professional   with 18 years of coaching and directing experience to offer.   He has coached National Competitors   and guided many skaters through their Gold test levels in Freeskating, Ice Dancing and Moves-in-the-Field.   Chris is also an accredited hockey powerskating instructor.

 

Sara Paymentsarap, Skating Director
Sara Payment brings competitive and precision skating experience to her position as a coach and instructor with the Wooster Skating Academy’s I-Skate Program.   She has been coaching for four years and served as director of the Alice Noble Ice Arena’s Bridge Program.

Sara competed at the intermediate level, qualifying four times to compete in the Empire State Games.   She has passed her 4th figure test.   A native of New York, she was a member of Achilles Figure Skating Club's precision team for 4 years.

Sara   is currently an I-Skate   LTS instructor for Wooster Skating Academy and gives private lessons to WFSC members.

Sara is accepting NEW students.

Carol Patton,   Learn to Skate   DirectorcarolCAROLP
Carol   is the current I-Skate/Learn To Skate Director with 10+ years of experience as a learn to skate instructor and private coach.   She has passed the USFSA 1st Figure test, Bronze Dances (plus one pre-silver dance), and Adult Bronze Moves In the Field.   She is currently working on her Adult Pre-silver dances and Adult Silver Moves in the Field.

Carol is accepting new students, specializing in Basic Skills, Moves In The Field, and Preliminary Dances.  


 Elspeth Bloom    
Elle Bloom is originally from Ann Arbor, MI and a sophomore at the College of Wooster.   She began skating at the age of nine.   She has passed her Pre-Juvenile Moves in the field and Pre-Preliminary Freestyle, along with the Bronze Dances.   Elspeth skated for her High School Figure Skating Team from 2003-2007 earning an individual gold medal for moves in the field her junior year and the Michigan State Championship, and a bronze her senior year.   She also served as a co-captain for the team from 2006-2007.  

She is accepting new, beginner level students for freestyle and moves in the field.
 

Lori Croston
Has 23 years of teaching experience. She has worked with many Midwestern   & National competitors.   Lori is a double gold medalist in figures and freestyle.

Lori currently is accepting   NEW students.

Patricia Lapsley      
Pat has been skating for over 20 years. She has 3 years of experience as a LTS instructor and a private coach. Pat has passed her Adult Pre-Bronze Moves and is working on her Adult Bronze Moves in the Field.
She also has experience as a Skating Director.

Pat is an instructor for I-Skate- Learn to skate. She also gives private lessons to WFSC members.

Corey McDevitt       CoreyMcDevittpic08
Corey has been skating for 7 years. He taught Learn to Play Hockey in the Canton area for 3 years. Corey also taught Learn to Skate   last year at     Alice Noble Ice Arena. He Played High School Hockey at Jackson High School. This is is 2nd year as Wooster Oilers Team Member. Corey was named Most Sportsmanlike Player in the 2006 season with   the Oilers. Corey was taught by 2 former NHL players   and is a USA Hockey Referee.
Corey is   currently an I-Skate Learn to Skate Instructor for Wooster Skating Academy, teaching the Basic Hockey and Hockey Power.    

Corey is also accepting NEW students for private hockey lessons.


Jennifer McKayJenniferMcKay
Jennifer has passed her Senior MIF, Junior Freestyle, and Bronze Dance. She has competed at Regionals in Novice, Intermediate and Pre-Juvenile. Jennifer has been teaching Learn to Skate at Center Ice and has   mentored under Chris Martin.

Jennifer is currently an I-Skate Learn to Skate Instructor for Wooster Skating Academy, teaching the Club Prep Program. She also gives private lesseons to WFSC members.

Jennifer is accepting new students in Basic Skills, Freeskating and Moves in the Field.



Jessica TaylorJessieTaylorcropJessieTaylorcrop
A   four time member of nationally ranked synchronized teams. She began figure skating at age 8, synchronized skating at age 11 and ice dancing at age 15. Jessica has passed her Senior MIF, Juvenile Freestyle,   and Silver Dance.

Jessica is currently an I-Skate   LTS instructor for Wooster Skating Academy and gives private lessons to WFSC members.

Jessica is accepting NEW students.
